We had bats in our attic once, and we spread mothballs and moth flakes around the area. They left!

Not sure how you can get the mothballs or flakes to stay in position on a vertical surface, but if you can find a way, it should work.

Hope this helps, and remember that bats are good to have around, as they eat lots of insects! Sometimes people put up houses, like birdhouses, for bats.
References :
we had a bat in home one time... hanging RIGHT over our staircase.
i used the back stairs from then on, and made sure to be extra quiet.
so my uncle whacked it with a broom.
haha.
kinda mean, but it gets the job done, huh?

we also had one in our pool room one time. people always say that they dont attack, but they do! haha. he flew straight at me and my aunt both... we had ceiling tiles propped up against the wall, so my aunt grabbed one and put it over her head, screaming and running away. lol. it was quite a sight to see.
is there any way you could use a broom? lol.
or maybe get a loud horn or something...
im not sure, since i dont know how high up off the ground they are or whatnot...
