Project 1: A window (about 2 feet tall, 3 feet wide) and a single shuttered pantry door (7 feet tall, one foot wide) the trim around said door…and 16 feet of 4 inch trim…

Project 2) A foyer about 4 by 5 feet, with two doors. I would like to paint the one door and trim a seperate color. (I’m leaving the exterior door alone….)

Thanks all – I’m so horrible at estimating how much paint I’ll need I always have way too much or not enough.

Be well
Tink

You need to get out a calculator and measure for sq feet – you’ll look on the can for coverage. Also, if painting over a darker color, more paint will be needed if you do not use an excellent primer like kilz.

note also, you can have your primer tinted, always sand lightly so paint will adhere properly and if more than one coat, dry thoroughly in between.

Have fun and be proud of your handi-work!

If so, do you like them or hate them? Also, if your floors were hardwood, would you match the shutters to the same colour as your wood floors or choose a different colour of wood??

I can’t make up my mind!!!!

I have them on every room in my house – even in the basement. I wanted a unified look from the outside as well as inside.

I would highly recommend them – they let you control the light and you can dress them up with side draperies in rooms that are more formal like the livingroom, etc.

I too have oak floors, but I chose standard white shutters. It would have been too much wood otherwise and white goes with any colour I choose to paint a room in the future.

Go for it – it’s pricey but will add value when you sell also.
